In Tibetan Buddhism, it is traditional to observe the anniversary of a great master’s parinirvana (called a “Dechö”) each year with practices to accumulate merit, purify obscurations, and connect with the master’s compassionate wisdom awareness.
For Ven. Gyatrul Rinpoche’s Decho at Orgyen Dorje Den, we will practice the Kunzang Nyima Vajrasattva, which has a special connection to Rinpoche. We will do the extensive, retreat-style version of the practice, which involves haunting melodies and striking Atiyoga imagery. Lama Drimed Lodro Rinpoche will be our Vajra Master.
